Testing a plein air setup

A few months ago I bought a porchade box for plein air painting. I'm a noob to plein air and landscapes in general so this is uncharted territory for me. I bought a pallete/porchade box from a company called New Wave Art (https://newwaveart.com). They are pricey like most good quality pallete boxes but I had a gift card that I got from Christmas so it was the perfect excuse to buy something I normally wouldn't spend this much money on. I got the smallest one they had, because I wanted something ultra portable (6"x8").

I have to say that I absolutely love it and I can see this being a nice little setup for some smaller scale plein air painting. You can attach it to a tripod. There is a side brush holder attachment you can get also, which I ultimately did get because I feel like it would be necessary otherwise I'm not sure where you would put your brushes. Wish they sold that as a part of the set. The brush holder attachment attaches with magnets and it really is in place without movement. The magnets are strong. The back is very sturdy also when you open it, there is no give in the hinge, which is nice. It's a real solid little box.

Here is my setup for my test. Did not go outside with it yet, wanted to test it indoors.

Decided to paint from a photo of this little church I found on my walks. There was this beautiful light coming through the trees that I wanted to capture.
